Sec. Luistro visits Tayabas Division

“Tayabas is imprinted in me.” DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro said this when he visited the division on Sept. 16. 

The Secretary used to stroll on the streets of Tayabas City in his youth because his grandfather took him when visiting the Missionary Catechist of St. Therese (MCST).This was in the memoir of Luistro when he arrived in Tayabas East Central School III, Sept 16.

Upon his arrival, he shook the hands of little children at the entrance of TECS III covered court. He entered the educational exhibit prepared by Tayabas East Central School I and other schools before he left the covered court.

He aligned this caravan to Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City, Camaranes Sur, Bicol region to the journey of Philippine education under his leadership. It was also his personal thanksgiving to God for surpassing insurmountable challenges during the implementation of the K-12 Program

With him were high officials from the Central Office, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents of Region IV-A CALABARZON and other supervisors and employees while DepEd Tayabas personnel and school administrators await him.

A privilege speech was given to Katherine Peñamora, 31, ALS graduate from Sitio Busal, the farthest school site in Tayabas.

Students from the Aeta tribe also welcomed Luistro and other visitors as they offered them native delicacies.
